Grateful

Grateful for .Emily. for taking me to my car. Especially because I'd left it miles from my home.

Grateful for the random stranger who scraped the ice off my back windshield.

Grateful for good people.

What are you grateful for?

Why I write.

I write because I feel; I write because I'm human. I write because even though people have different life experiences, I believe people all have the same emotions, and it is through sharing those emotions that we connect.

C.S. Lewis once said something similar. He said that "we read to know that we are not alone." In essence, we read to better understand the shared human experience--those basic human emotions that we all have.

So this is why I write. I write because sometimes I'm happy, and sometimes I'm not. I write because I think about things, and sometimes I feel like sharing them. I write because I know that even if the life I live is completely different from yours, we share some things in common.

But most importantly, I write because you are never alone.
